He had a relationship with a 14-year-old girl when he was 21. His mother was also convicted of sex trafficking and received a 10-year sentence. Franco's conviction may prevent him from obtaining a US work visa, impacting his $182 million contract with the Rays. MLB's investigation into the matter is ongoing and further discipline is possible.
