Beloved character actor Gailard Sartain, known for his roles in "Hee Haw," "Mississippi Burning," and "Fried Green Tomatoes," passed away at age 78. His death follows a prolonged illness, according to TMZ, which cited sources including the CEO of The Church Studio in Tulsa, where Sartain's wife volunteered. Sartain's "Hee Haw" co-star Victoria Hallman described him as a big brother figure who brought much laughter to the set. His career spanned over 60 film and television credits, beginning with his role as Dr. Mazeppa Pompazoidi on KOTV's "Uncanny Film Festival and Camp Meeting."
