Florida Protest Organizers Prepare for Crackdown | JQJO

Following President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles protests, Florida organizers are preparing for potential crackdowns on planned demonstrations this weekend. Groups are enhancing safety measures, including expanding volunteer teams and emphasizing immigrant protection. Organizers cite Florida's history of restrictive protest laws and Gov. DeSantis's pronouncements on maintaining law and order. Concerns exist about potential police targeting of immigrants, prompting safety marshals to adopt de-escalation strategies. Despite these challenges, organizers are committed to continuing protests.
