NASA's PUNCH mission has released its first images of coronal mass ejections (CMEs), massive solar eruptions. Captured between May and June 2025, these images provide an unprecedented view of CMEs traveling through the inner solar system. The four-spacecraft PUNCH mission aims to track CMEs and solar flares, improving space weather forecasting and protecting space infrastructure. High-resolution images, like one showing a CME approaching a spacecraft, offer detailed views of the Sun's outer atmosphere and will help predict the impact of solar storms on Earth.
