Apple announced that macOS Tahoe, releasing this fall, will be the final major software update for Intel-based Macs. While these Macs will receive security updates for three years, Apple is fully transitioning to its own Apple silicon chips. This decision reflects Apple's focus on its in-house processors, encouraging users and developers to migrate to Apple silicon-based devices and applications. The transition, started in 2020, concluded with the 2023 Mac Pro launch.
