Eid al-Adha, the "Feast of Sacrifice," is being celebrated by over two billion Muslims worldwide. This major Islamic holiday commemorates Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son, an act replaced by a ram by divine intervention. Celebrations, starting June 5th for Hajj pilgrims in Mecca and June 6th for others, involve prayers, animal sacrifice (Qurbani) for those who can afford it, and communal feasts. The Qurbani meat is shared among family, friends, and the needy. Eid al-Adha is marked by festive gatherings and the exchange of gifts, reflecting communal enjoyment and devotion.
