Billy Joel's new documentary, "Billy Joel: And So It Goes," reveals he attempted suicide twice after an affair with his friend Jon Small's wife, Elizabeth Weber. The affair caused significant guilt and depression, leading to a sleeping pill overdose and a subsequent attempt using household cleaner. Small, despite the betrayal, saved Joel's life on the second occasion. Joel channeled his pain into music, eventually marrying Weber before moving on to three other marriages. The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Joel's ex-wife Christie Brinkley also recently discussed their relationship in her memoir.
