Microsoft is expanding its compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the European Economic Area (EEA). New changes allow EEA users to uninstall the Microsoft Store, prevent prompts to set Edge as the default browser, and easily pin alternative browsers to the taskbar. The updates also include broader default browser settings, allowing third-party apps to integrate with Windows Search, and using the default browser for Bing, Widgets, and Lock Screen content. These changes, rolling out in June and July, follow earlier DMA-related updates allowing Edge uninstallation and Bing removal from search results.
