Scientists have solved the mystery behind two global seismic events in 2023. Two independent studies, confirmed by new research in Nature Communications, attribute the nine-day tremors to massive landslides in East Greenland's Dickson Fjord. These landslides triggered mega-tsunamis, creating immense standing waves (seiches) that caused detectable movements in the Earth's crust. NASA's SWOT satellite provided crucial high-resolution data, definitively linking the seiches to the seismic anomalies.
