A peculiar hill in West Darfur, Sudan, resembling pursed lips, has captivated researchers. Initially photographed by Google Earth in 2012, it shows a pinkish hue due to drought, contrasting with greener imagery from 2025. Geomorphologist Josh Roering speculates that a resistant rock dike, possibly formed by volcanic or tectonic activity, runs through its center, creating the unique shape. Further research is needed to confirm this hypothesis, as the hill's age and elevation remain unknown.
