Final results from a Fermilab experiment confirm previous findings that muons, subatomic particles, exhibit unexpected behavior inconsistent with the Standard Model of physics. The experiment, using twice the data of 2023, strengthens evidence of this anomaly. While this challenges the Standard Model, theoretical physicists are working to reconcile the findings. Future experiments, including one in Japan, aim to further investigate muon behavior and potentially shed light on dark matter.
