Google is automatically adding AI-generated email summaries to Gmail for Android and iOS. Previously, users had to manually request summaries. This new feature, powered by Gemini, provides bullet-point summaries for longer emails and threads, appearing at the top of the inbox. The rollout will take up to 15 days for English-language emails and is currently available for paid Workspace and Google AI Premium users. The potential expansion to standard Gmail accounts suggests a move towards default AI summaries for all users.
