The New York Knicks staved off elimination in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, defeating the Indiana Pacers 111-94. Jalen Brunson (32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) and Karl-Anthony Towns (24 points, 13 rebounds) led the Knicks' offensive charge, becoming the first teammates since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal in 2002 to each score 20+ points in the first five games of a conference finals. Improved defense also contributed to the victory, giving the Knicks renewed hope to win the series.
