Apple is reportedly changing its operating system naming convention. Instead of sequential numbers (like iOS 18, 19, etc.), future updates will use the last two digits of the upcoming year. This means iOS 18 will become iOS 26 in 2025, aligning with iPadOS, MacOS, WatchOS, tvOS, and VisionOS. The change aims to improve branding consistency across Apple devices. This rebranding is expected to be announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9th. The iPhone line, however, is not expected to be affected by this change.
