Apple is bolstering its mobile gaming presence. Ahead of WWDC, Apple acquired its first game studio, RAC7, maker of Sneaky Sasquatch for Apple Arcade. Additionally, Apple is developing a dedicated gaming app for iOS 19, replacing Game Center, to include leaderboards, recommendations, and social features, potentially integrating with iMessage and FaceTime for remote play. This move coincides with the growth of cloud gaming, a sector where Apple is now more directly competing.
