A 135-meter container ship, the NCL Salten, ran aground on a Norwegian man's lawn in Byneset. Johan Helberg, the homeowner, slept through the entire event, only discovering the ship when his neighbor alerted him. The ship, carrying 16 people, narrowly missed hitting Helberg's house. No injuries were reported, but an investigation into the cause of the grounding is underway. Attempts to refloat the ship have been unsuccessful, pending geotechnical surveys.
