Google is beta testing Material 3 Expressive design elements in its Files app (v1.7528). Changes include centrally positioned floating action buttons (FABs), larger thumbnails, and a redesigned, centrally located progress bar. These updates, spotted via APK teardown, may not appear in the final release. Material 3 Expressive is expected to roll out later this year, potentially with Android 16 QPR1 beta.
