Ryan Kiera Armstrong will star as the new slayer in the Hulu Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar, who reprises her iconic role and executive produces. Oscar winner Chloé Zhao directs the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Armstrong, praised for her emotional intelligence and talent, was personally welcomed to the project by Gellar. The reboot, described as the next chapter in the Buffyverse, hails from 20th Television and Searchlight TV, with several executive producers including Dolly Parton.
