Kelli Giddish is returning to "Law & Order: SVU" as a series regular for season 27. Giddish, who plays Amanda Rollins, left the show mid-season 24 but made guest appearances since then. Her return comes amidst several cast and crew changes, including a new showrunner, Michele Fazekas, the first woman to helm the long-running series. Giddish's character will rejoin the NYPD after a stint teaching at Fordham University. Star Mariska Hargitay advocated for Giddish's return.
