Redesigned Windows 11 Start Menu Launches Soon

Read, Watch or Listen

Microsoft is releasing a redesigned Windows 11 Start menu this month. The update features a wider layout and allows users to disable the recommended files and apps feed. Before settling on the final design, Microsoft explored five alternative concepts, ranging from a rounded menu with widget-like functionality to a full-screen vertical layout with scrollable sections. These concepts were tested with over 300 Windows 11 users to ensure ease of use and customizability while respecting user familiarity. The new menu will also integrate a phone companion panel. The updated Start menu is currently being tested with Windows Insiders and will roll out to all users in the coming months.
