The Episcopal church's migration service is ending its partnership with the US government over its decision to prioritize resettling white South Africans granted refugee status. Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe cited the church's commitment to racial justice, highlighting the preferential treatment given to this group over others facing dire circumstances. The move concludes a nearly four-decade partnership that resettled almost 110,000 refugees. Another faith-based agency, Church World Service, stated it will continue assisting all eligible refugees, including those from South Africa.
