Measles Outbreak: Hundreds of Students Quarantined

Read, Watch or Listen

Measles cases in the US are surging, making 2025 the second-worst year since the disease was eliminated in 2000. An outbreak in North Dakota led to the quarantine of nearly 200 unvaccinated students. Over 1,000 measles cases have been reported nationwide, with the majority linked to a large outbreak in West Texas that has spread to neighboring states. The CDC reports 126 hospitalizations and three deaths, all in unvaccinated individuals. Experts believe the actual number of cases is significantly higher due to underreporting.
