Fitness tracker company Whoop is facing backlash after changing its upgrade policy for its new Whoop 5.0. Initially promising free upgrades to members with six months' membership, Whoop now requires 12 months for a free upgrade to its new Peak subscription. Users with less than 12 months remaining must extend their membership or pay a fee. Whoop claims an earlier blog post incorrectly stated the six-month requirement, but users remain skeptical, with many threatening cancellations.
