HoYoverse, Genshin Impact's developer, will implement age verification for US players by July 18th, as part of a $20 million FTC settlement. This follows a lawsuit alleging misleading purchase systems, targeting children, and data collection violations. Players under 16 will still be able to play but won't be able to make in-game purchases independently. Failure to verify age by the deadline will result in account suspension and data deletion.
