The popular deepfake pornography website, Mr. Deepfakes, has permanently shut down. The platform, which hosted 43,000 videos viewed over 1.5 billion times, was reportedly taken down due to a critical service provider cutting off access. This follows the recent passing of the Take It Down Act, making non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated content, illegal. While the exact reason remains unclear, Mr. Deepfakes stated data loss prevented further operation, and warned against imposter sites.
