REAL ID Required for Domestic Flights Starting May 7th

Read, Watch or Listen

Starting May 7th, travelers in the U.S. must present a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or other acceptable identification at airport security checkpoints. Standard state-issued driver's licenses will no longer be accepted. Acceptable alternatives include passports and military IDs. Those without a REAL ID should allow extra time for additional screening and risk missing their flights. REAL IDs are usually marked with a star; a TSA online quiz can help verify compliance. Obtain a REAL ID at your state's DMV; required documents include proof of identity, address, and lawful U.S. status.
