Divers off San Diego discovered the carcass of a baby gray whale at an unusually shallow depth of 115 feet. The 18-foot-long, 2,000-pound whale's remains have since vanished, puzzling marine experts. The calf had been previously sighted near La Jolla Shores, appearing distressed and seeking help before its death. Whale falls are rarely observed at such shallow depths, adding to the mystery of its disappearance.
