Borderlands 4's release date has been moved up by 11 days to September 12th, 2024, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Gearbox's Randy Pitchford announced the early release in a video. Speculation suggests this shift may be to avoid competition with other upcoming titles like Grand Theft Auto 6 or Marathon, though Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick assures careful release planning to avoid cannibalization of their own games. A PlayStation State of Play showcasing Borderlands 4 is scheduled for April 30th.
