Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform, is launching a blue check verification system similar to Twitter's, initially working with trusted organizations to verify accounts. This will help users identify legitimate accounts, particularly those of public figures, reducing disinformation. While initially limited to trusted verifiers, Bluesky plans to open verification requests in the future. The platform already uses domain verification, but the blue check offers a more visual cue of authenticity.
