Strongest Extraterrestrial Life Signs Found on Exoplanet

Read, Watch or Listen

Scientists have detected potential biosignatures, hinting at possible extraterrestrial life on exoplanet K2-18 b, located 120 light-years from Earth. The James Webb Space Telescope detected gases potentially produced only by biological processes. While this is considered the strongest evidence yet, researchers emphasize that more observation is needed to confirm the presence of actual living organisms. The planet, eight times Earth's mass, is thought to be a Hycean planet with a hydrogen-rich atmosphere and water-covered surface. Caution is urged pending further analysis.
