Bank of America Tops Q1 Earnings Expectations

Read, Watch or Listen

Bank of America exceeded first-quarter expectations, reporting earnings of 90 cents per share (versus an estimated 82 cents) and revenue of $27.51 billion (versus $26.99 billion expected). Profit climbed 11% to $7.4 billion, driven by stronger net interest income and trading revenue. While investment banking fees slightly missed estimates, the bank's provision for loan losses was better than expected. Despite recent stock declines linked to trade uncertainty, CEO Brian Moynihan expressed confidence in the bank's future, citing strong client performance and responsible growth strategies. Shares rose 2.2% in premarket trading.
