Read, Watch or Listen

Security researcher Michael Tuckner discovered 35 Chrome extensions with suspicious similarities, including obfuscated code and unlisted status on the Chrome Web Store. Despite being difficult to find, they collectively amassed 4 million installs. Ten extensions were even marked "Featured," a designation reserved for verified developers. One extension, ironically named "Fire Shield Extension Protection," was found to connect to questionable domains and exhibited unusual behavior, hindering analysis. The extensions' widespread installation despite their hidden nature raises concerns about their potential malicious activity.
