Delta warns of ‘economic uncertainty’ and ‘stalled growth’ in new recession alarm bell

Delta Air Lines warned of a potential revenue decline in the current quarter, citing broad economic uncertainty and a possible US recession. CEO Ed Bastian expressed concern about the economy, stating Delta is adopting a defensive posture. The airline revised its outlook, dropping its 2025 record profit prediction and scaling back seat offerings due to decreased travel demand from both business and leisure travelers. While second-quarter revenue is projected to be between a 2% gain and a 2% decline, the company still expects benefits from lower fuel costs.
