Mystery man in an AP photo after the Louvre heist creates a buzz
After the daring crown-jewel heist at the Louvre, AP photographer Thibault Camus snapped police sealing a gate—and, by chance, a trench-coated passerby in a fedora. The image sparked online buzz, with posts on X insisting the stylish man was a French detective, even likening him to Inspector Clouseau, though AP’s caption never identified him. Camus says the man simply walked past as authorities evacuated the area. Asked if he might be an investigator, the Paris prosecutor’s office teased: “We’d rather keep the mystery alive ;)”.
