Los Angeles — Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Shohei Ohtani will make his next pitching start Tuesday against the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium, appearing on five days' rest rather than his customary six; Roberts cited Tyler Glasnow's 105‑pitch, eight‑scoreless‑inning start in San Francisco on Thursday as part of the scheduling decision.
On Sunday Ohtani also homered in a 6-0 win over the Chicago Cubs, finishing 3-for-3 with an RBI and a steal; through four mound appearances this season for the Dodgers he is 2-0 with a 0.38 ERA across 24 innings. Separately, reliever Edwin Díaz underwent elbow surgery last week to remove five loose bodies and expects to return in the second half.
