North Carolina officials charged Wellington Dickens III, 38, with murder after he called 911 and reported killing his children. Deputies found the bodies of three children and a stepchild in a car trunk in his Zebulon garage; a 3-year-old son was unharmed. Identified: Leah, 6; Zoe, 9; Wellington, 10; and Sean Brasfield, 18. Dickens appeared in court Tuesday and is held without bond as murder charges are sought. No motive or cause was released; officials said the remains had been there for a long period. Court records list May 1 as the offense date.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued Kenvue and Johnson & Johnson, alleging deceptive Tylenol marketing and claiming the drug “leads to a significantly increased risk of autism and other disorders.” The suit cites evidence “highlighted by the Trump Administration.” Donald Trump has repeatedly urged people not to take Tylenol. Studies are mixed; a Swedish sibling study found no added risk. After Trump’s remarks, the FDA noted no causal link is established and acetaminophen remains the safest option in pregnancy. Kenvue called the case “scientifically unfounded,” warning about misinformation and pledging a vigorous defense.

Nobody Wants This returned to Netflix at No. 1, drawing 8.6M views in its first four days—slightly below last year’s 10.3M season-one launch. The comeback also lifted Season 1 to No. 9 with 2M views for the week. The Diplomat ranked second with 6.3M in its second week, and Boots was third with 5.6M, with several other series filling out the TV chart. On film, Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite debuted with 22.1M views in three days, depicting the upper echelons of the U.S. government’s roughly 18 minutes to react to an unattributed nuclear missile.

After months of a 'no hire, no fire' job market, sweeping cuts at Amazon, UPS and Target are shifting the tone. Amazon will cut 14,000 jobs as it leans into AI; UPS says its workforce is down 48,000 from a year ago; Target plans 800-plus Minnesota layoffs amid a wider restructuring. With nearly 950,000 cuts through September—the most since 2020—hiring has slowed, official data are stalled by the shutdown, and the Fed meets without fresh figures. Unemployment remains historically low, but economists warn fewer openings could stretch job searches and weaken job security.

Television viewers watched a 210 Freeway pursuit Monday as a motorcyclist who authorities say shot and killed San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Nunez fled at nearly 150 mph, racked a handgun, and then collided with a gray Toyota Camry that had deliberately swerved to stop him. The Camry’s driver, an off-duty county narcotics deputy who put himself back on duty, ended the chase; the suspect, 47-year-old Angelo Jose Saldivar, was airlifted and is in stable condition, with charges expected. Policing experts said the deputy’s use of deadly force was likely justified. Mourning followed for Nunez, 28.

A federal judge in San Francisco indefinitely halted the Trump administration’s shutdown‑tied reductions‑in‑force, extending an earlier pause on thousands of layoffs at union-represented agencies. U.S. District Judge Susan Illston said unions are likely to prove the actions unlawful and set another hearing to decide whether some RIFs, including at Interior and Education, are linked to the funding lapse. Justice Department lawyers argued the executive may conduct RIFs during a shutdown; plaintiffs said the orders defy statutes and required illegal work. Illston underscored trauma, as roughly 4,000 have received notices and Russell Vought said more than 10,000 could receive notices.

Amazon will cut thousands of corporate jobs, blaming AI's rapid shift, according to a memo from SVP Beth Galetti. The move, despite strong profits, aligns with layoffs at Salesforce (4,000), Lufthansa (4,000) and Chegg (45% of staff, 388 roles) tied to efficiency claims and strategy changes. Experts told ABC News the cuts highlight risks to white-collar, middle-skill roles, though AI's true impact and a slowing economy's role remain unclear. CEO Andy Jassy says Amazon will redeploy talent and keep hiring in key areas; the company employs 1.56 million people.

Nearly a month into the federal shutdown, vital supports are fraying. SNAP funds for 42 million Americans are set to run out Friday after the administration declined to tap contingency money, and WIC could follow next week. Active-duty troops may miss pay despite earlier fund shifts and even a $130 million anonymous gift. Head Start centers warn more than 65,000 seats could be affected as Nov. 1 grants stall. Open enrollment for ACA coverage opens Saturday, but Healthcare.gov appeared to show 2025 plans instead of next year’s options. States scramble, reserves thin, and workers have already gone unpaid.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he is deeply concerned by President Donald Trump and allies floating a third term in 2028, telling ABC News' Jonathan Karl, 'They're not screwing around.' Trump has mused about running again despite the Constitution, and last week Steve Bannon claimed 'there's a plan' for a third term. Newsom recounted an Oval Office moment in which Trump, referencing FDR's painting, replied 'No, fourth' after Newsom said 'Third term?' and laughed when Newsom added, 'We're perfect little sheep, aren't we?' Karl's interview airs Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu.

Two days after releasing “West End Girl,” Lily Allen and David Harbour listed their Carroll Gardens brownstone for $7.995 million, more than double what they paid four years ago. The Weeknd set a Coral Gables record with a $50 million waterfront purchase. Roseanne Barr sold her Big Island farm for $2.6 million, above ask. Christine McVie’s Belgravia penthouse sold for £6.65 million. Carl Icahn relisted a Midtown duplex at $23 million.
