Back in the AFC East spotlight, the 8-2 Patriots host the Jets on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium, fueled by a seven-game win streak under new coach Mike Vrabel and second-year quarterback Drake Maye. New York enters on two straight wins after beating the Browns despite trading stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. Jets coach Aaron Glenn promised "a fight," while Vrabel praised the Jets' energy and excitement on film. Vrabel interviewed for the Jets' job in January before New England hired him and the Jets chose Glenn, setting up a charged meeting between renewed rivals.

At just 23, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs surged to 41 career touchdowns after a three-touchdown Sunday, edging toward Barry Sanders’ mark. Sanders holds the NFL record for players under 24 with 47 touchdowns; Gibbs, who turns 24 in March, needs seven more this season to surpass it. Since entering the league in 2023, no player has more touchdowns than Gibbs. One more score Sunday night against the Eagles would tie him with Jim Brown for fourth most before 24, with Randy Moss and Emmitt Smith next at 43—before he can chase Sanders.

As immigration enforcement intensifies, some undocumented families are relocating inside the U.S., seeking towns with fewer raids. In Florida, E., an undocumented mother, decided to leave after hostile stares in a Tampa store and a raid at her husband’s construction site; the family plans to move to a small Michigan town on a friend’s advice. Demographer Matt Brooks says migrants often make multiple moves, including away from enforcement hot spots. NPR recently checked in with R., from Nebraska, who drove to North Carolina after a plant raid and found quieter work in roofing.

Amon-Ra St. Brown apologized for mimicking the Trump dance after his first‑quarter touchdown against the Commanders, saying on his podcast he meant no offense and would have done it for any president. Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson and cabinet members, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, attended the game in Landover; Trump later posted the clip on Truth Social, labeling him “Amon-Ra St. Trump.” The Lions star called it “just having fun.” Similar celebrations surfaced among Tigers players on Sept. 11 at Yankee Stadium. St. Brown has 64 catches and eight touchdowns through nine games.

Samsung may finally put real focus on thinness in its clamshell lineup. The Bell reports the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is planned to be slimmer and lighter than previous models, targeting more than a 10% cut after the Flip 7’s modest 8.1% bulk reduction when folded. A back-of-the-envelope estimate puts a 10% drop at roughly 12.33mm thick and 169 grams, near Galaxy S25 Edge territory. Samsung is also said to be aiming for 6.7 million foldable sales in 2026. Software remains a hurdle, with One UI’s outer display trailing rivals; rumored One UI 9 could help next summer.

Disney’s dispute with Google’s YouTube TV is reshaping the TV news leaderboard. With ABC channels blacked out since Oct. 30 for roughly 10 million subscribers, ABC retitled World News Tonight and Good Morning America episodes, blunting their Nielsen counts. NBC Nightly News led adults 25–54 for the week ending Nov. 7, 929,000 to 883,000, its first such win under anchor Tom Llamas. Today also edged Good Morning America in total viewers, 2.81 million to 2.72 million. The standoff centers on price, and ABC News declined comment.

Bradley Beal will miss the rest of the season with a fractured hip requiring surgery, the Clippers confirmed, following Tyronn Lue’s pregame “yes” when asked if concern went beyond one night. The guard was hurt Saturday against Phoenix while trying to take a charge, falling awkwardly and exiting for good. Recovery is estimated at six to nine months, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. For a 3-7 team already missing Kawhi Leonard, Beal’s loss looms large; he averaged 8.7 points on 37.5% shooting. Expect more Kris Dunn and Cam Christie minutes.

President Donald Trump declared victory as a 43 day government shutdown ended, while Democrats turned on one another over a compromise that omitted relief for rising health care costs. Eight moderate senators backed the deal, drawing fire from progressives and prompting calls from some House Democrats for new Senate leadership. A Kaiser survey shows 74% support extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, including half of Republicans and 44% of MAGA supporters. Democrats see leverage as GOP senators voted against premium aid; a promised Senate vote is unlikely to pass, and House leaders likely won’t take it up.

Paul Skenes, in his second MLB season, claimed a unanimous 2025 NL Cy Young, flashing a wide grin, pumping his fist and hugging girlfriend Olivia “Livvy” Dunne as the news landed. The Pirates right-hander earned it with a 1.97 ERA, 216 strikeouts, and just 11 homers and 42 walks in 32 starts. MLB’s X account joked about how much livelier this celebration looked than his Rookie of the Year moment. Dunne shared behind-the-scenes clips, from jersey cookies and a Pirates cake to a glowing “2025 CY YOUNG” sign, before Skenes posed, smiling, a champagne bottle in each hand.

Samsung’s long teased Galaxy Z TriFold is nearing launch, with The Chosun Daily reporting a tentative December 5 debut, a launch event, and sales opening immediately after. Availability may be limited to Korea and select Asian countries, with pricing around 4.4 million won, just under $3,000. The report lists key specs: a 6.5 inch external screen, 10 inch inner display, 4.2 mm when unfolded, about 14 mm folded, and a 5,600 mAh battery—larger than the Fold 7’s 4,400 mAh. Samsung only gave the device its first official reveal in October.
