Week 11 brings a Mayfield versus Allen duel with division stakes and MVP buzz. Tampa Bay visits Buffalo after dropping two of four, hindered by injuries to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving. Rachaad White averages 3.7 yards per carry, and Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite Emeka Egbuka (-200) faces a Bills secondary allowing the fifth-fewest WR catches. Buffalo, coming off a 30-13 loss to Miami, leans on its ground game: James Cook is second in scrimmage yards and Allen ranks fourth among quarterbacks in rushing. With wind, rain and snow forecast, the recommended play is Under 47 (-110, BetMGM).

Georgia overpowered Texas 35-10 as Kirby Smart unleashed bold decisions, including his first recovered onside kick in 10 seasons at Georgia. Kicker Peyton Woodring nudged it perfectly and walk-on Cash Jones pounced, shortly after two fourth-down gambits extended a drive and preceded a Gunner Stockton strike to London Humphreys. Stockton totaled five touchdowns, matching his incompletions, while the defense limited Texas to 23 net rushing yards and sacked Arch Manning three times. The performance signaled a surging College Football Playoff push.

Prediction markets are drawing millions, from livestreamer Joel Holsinger, who quit his job and says he nets about $3,000 a week on Kalshi, to investors backing rivals like Polymarket. Kalshi's founders tout a federally regulated exchange that called the 2024 presidential race early and showed odds in the 90s in New York's mayoral contest, even as states like Massachusetts call its sports markets unlawful wagering. With most non-election money on sports, critics such as author Jonathan Cohen call it gambling, not investing, and warn of a rising 'gamblification' of American culture.

The season-ending ATP Finals in Turin culminates today with No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz facing No. 2 Jannik Sinner at 12 p.m. ET, their 16th career meeting and sixth showdown of 2025. Viewers without cable can stream the finale free via a five-day DIRECTV trial, which includes Tennis Channel in its Choice package.

Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot around 2 a.m. in Midtown Manhattan, on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue, according to the New York Post. Police have made no arrests and are investigating. Boyd, 29, is in his first year with the Jets after signing in March and has spent the season on injured reserve. A 2019 seventh-round pick by the Vikings out of Texas, he has also been with the Cardinals and Texans. The Jets are off this weekend after playing Thursday night.

The Pentagon is pulling hundreds of federalized National Guard troops from Chicago and Portland weeks after President Trump sent them over objections from state and local leaders, officials said. About 200 California Guard in Portland and 200 Texas Guard in Chicago will return home as early as Sunday after legal challenges kept them off the streets. With holidays looming and court orders halting operations, Pentagon leaders opted to end the costly standby. Roughly 300 Illinois and 200 Oregon Guard remain activated. Northern Command signaled adjustments under Title 10 as courts including the Supreme Court continue to weigh the deployments.

Week 12 scrambled the College Football Playoff race, led by SEC mayhem: Oklahoma upset Alabama, Texas A&M roared back from 27 down, Ole Miss steadied late, and Georgia crushed Texas to look like the league’s best. The columnist’s Best Guess now envisions five SEC teams in the field, maybe six. Beyond the SEC, Notre Dame smothered Pitt, USC rallied past Iowa, and Michigan edged Northwestern. BYU and Utah cruised, Georgia Tech stayed in control of the ACC race, and Navy tripped USF in the American. San Diego State seized the Mountain West lead, and Western Michigan topped the MAC.

In Madrid’s Bernabéu, the NFL’s Spain debut tightened late, with Washington and Miami locked 13-13. Deebo Samuel produced the first touchdown in Madrid on a 20-yard screen before Miami answered with Ollie Gordon’s one-yard plunge. Marcus Mariota thrilled with a 44-yard scramble, briefly left, then returned. Bobby Wagner broke up a fourth-down throw from Tua Tagovailoa to Jaylen Waddle, and a late Commanders fourth-and-goal unraveled when Zach Ertz slipped.

In Chester, Pa., Gio Reyna, short on club minutes and only “80, 85 percent” fit, starred as the U.S. men beat Paraguay 2-1 in a friendly. He headed an early goal and later sparked Folarin Balogun’s winner, flashing the vision and calm teammates say steadies them, even after a lapse helped Paraguay’s equalizer. Coach Mauricio Pochettino called his movement “a nightmare,” while captain Tim Ream and Brenden Aaronson praised his aggression and resilience. After 75 lively minutes, Reyna smiled and said he was “just happy to be back.”

Chants of we want Lane and shirts urging Lane to come to Gainesville rang out after No. 7 Ole Miss rallied to beat Florida 34-24, but Lane Kiffin brushed aside Florida job buzz. Calling it disrespectful to his 10-win Rebels, the sixth-year coach said speculation hasn’t distracted a team in position for a College Football Playoff berth. Florida fired Billy Napier last month after an abysmal win over Mississippi State left it 3-4 and has slid to 3-7 under interim Billy Gonzales. Kiffin has Ole Miss in its best five-year stretch and hasn’t said whether he’ll return next season.
