The Rams edged the Seahawks 21-19 as Los Angeles intercepted Sam Darnold four times, then survived a last-second 61-yard attempt. A veteran coach called Darnold’s panic plays persistent, while credit flowed to Rams coordinator Chris Shula and a nickel-heavy plan that produced two tide-turning picks. The column also crowns Josh Allen atop the 2025 Betrayal Index, spotlights Ben Johnson’s tough love for Caleb Williams and Kevin O’Connell’s patience with J.J. McCarthy, hails Kyle Hamilton’s all-around impact, reflects on Kenny Easley’s legacy, and notes uneven contenders from the Chiefs to Miami.

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, an eight-round bout streaming on Netflix and confirmed by MVP and Matchroom after Paul’s scrapped exhibition with Gervonta Davis. Joshua, 36, returns from elbow surgery after a fifth-round stoppage loss to Daniel Dubois, with promoter Eddie Hearn calling it a “run out fight.” Paul, 28, has 13 pro bouts with 12 wins and has never faced an active heavyweight; he beat Mike Tyson over eight two-minute rounds and Julio César Chávez Jr by unanimous decision in June. Analysis questions safety amid experience gaps.

Cleveland led 16-10 when rookie starter Dillon Gabriel left at halftime with a concussion, and the Ravens blanked the Browns 13-0 after rookie Shedeur Sanders made his debut. Sanders went 4-of-16 for 47 yards with an interception, posting a 13.5 rating. Coach Kevin Stefanski said Sanders had zero first-team reps all season, citing the need to prioritize a rookie starter while trusting both quarterbacks. With little veteran presence beyond Bailey Zappe, the piece argues Cleveland is leaning on inexperience and suggests keeping Joe Flacco might have preserved Sunday’s lead.

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a Tampa Christian school’s challenge to the denial of a pregame prayer over a stadium loudspeaker, leaving intact a 2000 precedent against student-led prayer at football games. With no noted dissents, the decision preserves an 11th Circuit ruling that loudspeaker remarks at Florida state championships are government speech. The dispute began in 2015 at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl, where the athletics association turned down the request but the teams prayed together before the game; lower courts later rejected the school’s free speech and free exercise claims.

With the NFL reviewing its Hawkeye stadium cameras, a decision is expected today on whether to suspend Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase for allegedly spitting on Steelers safety Jalen Ramsey. Officials didn’t see the incident Sunday, but a Week 1 precedent involving Jalen Carter — ejection plus a fine equal to a game check — suggests a one-game ban when no ejection occurs. The league could still rule case by case ahead of next Sunday’s game against the Patriots. Chase, who said I didn’t spit on nobody, is expected to appeal.

The Dolphins won on Sunday when cornerback Jack Jones intercepted Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota on the first play of overtime. Linebacker Jordyn Brooks said Jones predicted it moments earlier, telling the front seven to stop the run because Mariota would “throw me the ball.” Jones jumped a pass intended for tight end Zach Ertz, giving the Dolphins immediate field goal range. They ran a few plays to get a little closer and then kicked the game winner.

Federal agents launched Operation Charlotte's Web in Charlotte, arresting 81 people in five hours as part of a broader crackdown that has produced thousands of arrests and nearly 200,000 deportations by late August. Martha White, granddaughter and literary executor of E.B. White, rebuked the use of her grandfather’s book, saying he opposed masked raids and fearmongering while believing in rule of law and due process. North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein accused agents of racially profiling residents. Border official Gregory Bovino echoed book language online. Some businesses closed, including a Colombian bakery after seeing agents chase and tackle people.

Peter Thiel’s Thiel Macro LLC sold its entire Nvidia stake in the third quarter, unloading 537,742 shares worth about $100 million at Sept. 30’s close, according to a 13F filing. The move marks another retreat from the leading AI chipmaker. The fund now lists Apple and Microsoft among its main positions, alongside a reduced stake in Tesla.

Costco is selling MSI’s 27 inch 1440p QD OLED gaming monitor (MAG271QPX E2) for members at $380 in an online only deal through December 1. In a week of testing, the 240Hz display delivered punchy color, deep blacks, and contrast that makes fast games easier to read, though OLED text fringing exists on close inspection. It supports VRR from 48 to 240Hz and FreeSync Premium Pro, includes DP 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1, USB C with DP video and 15W PD (off by default), and carries a three year burn in warranty. Competing 27 inch OLEDs are currently $499.99.

Two years after swearing off new clothes, Minnesota pharmacist and creator Lydia Patel relies on rental services to dress for life’s occasional events, saving money and skipping laundry. She’s part of a growing shift as apparel prices climb and tariffs bite, pushing shoppers toward subscriptions from companies like Nuuly and Rent the Runway. The $2.6 billion rental market is expanding but squeezed by import costs and inventory shortages, especially during the holidays. Platforms are letting users pause plans, adding styles, and urging early reservations; Patel plans to rent festive looks now and send them back in January.
