Plex Inc., a California‑based streaming platform, has teamed with Fandango to streamline the journey from movie discovery to theater seats.

The new integration lets users click a film on Plex and purchase tickets through Fandango’s system without leaving the app. This move follows Fandango’s long history of expanding ticketing services, beginning with its founding in two thousand and zero and growing through partnerships with major theater chains and digital platforms.

By merging Plex’s discovery tools with Fandango’s ticketing network, the collaboration aims to boost convenience for moviegoers and increase revenue streams for both companies. Industry observers note that the partnership could set a new standard for how streaming services interact with live‑event commerce, potentially reshaping the cinematic experience for audiences worldwide.

Laika’s newest stop‑motion feature, Wildwood, has earned strong critical acclaim, yet its hefty production costs raise doubts about commercial success.

The studio, famed for films such as Coraline and ParaNorman, invested a substantial budget to achieve its ambitious visual style, hoping to translate artistic merit into box‑office revenue.

Analysts note that while the film’s artistic merit is clear, the financial risk remains high, and early ticket sales have not yet met expectations. The industry watches closely, as Laika’s performance could influence future funding decisions for high‑budget animation projects.

Sony Group Corporation is exploring a strategy to release four Beatles biopics at once, aiming to combine their box‑office reporting. The plan, announced in early two thousand twenty‑six, could streamline marketing and create a unified audience experience, potentially boosting overall revenue. Sony’s diversified portfolio, spanning film, music, and gaming, positions it to capitalize on cross‑promotional opportunities. The company’s recent shift toward digital distribution, coupled with the end of physical disc production in early two thousand twenty‑eight, underscores its commitment to modernizing its release model while maintaining profitability.

Michael Desronvil, the sole holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder case, gave his first interview since a mistrial was declared. He said he never had reasonable doubt that Clancy was guilty of first‑degree murder, citing evidence presented during the trial.

Desronvil explained that his Christian faith and constant prayer guided him through thirty‑eight hours of deliberations, which he described as tense and methodical. The jury of nine women and three men ultimately voted eleven‑one to acquit Clancy after seven days of discussion, but Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September fourth.

Prosecutors have yet to announce whether they will retry Clancy. The case has sparked intense scrutiny of juror conduct and raised questions about the impact of public scrutiny on future juries.
