Former Dallas Cowboys running back Jaydon Blue is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad, according to an ESPN report on Monday. Blue was waived by the Cowboys during roster cutdowns on Sunday after spending his rookie season in Dallas following selection as a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. During his single season with the Cowboys, Blue appeared in five games, recording 38 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown while spending substantial time as a healthy scratch. The move keeps Blue within the NFC East, giving the Eagles an opportunity to evaluate a player they scouted during the pre-draft process in 2025. Philadelphia adds him to a practice squad containing running back depth options behind the active roster. The transition comes as NFL franchises finalize their initial practice squads following the mandatory roster reductions across the league. Neither team has announced additional contract terms regarding the practice squad placement.

The United States and New Zealand have agreed to co-fund a port development project on Penrhyn Atoll in the Cook Islands, committing fifty million dollars and ten million dollars respectively. Announced by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, the infrastructure initiative builds upon the Critical Minerals Framework signed earlier by Washington and the Cook Islands. The project aims to improve local maritime connectivity and safety while supporting strategic interests in accessing deep-sea mineral resources across the region. Officials noted that the upgraded facility will serve as a vital lifeline for the isolated northern atoll, enhancing logistical capabilities for both commercial and resource exploration activities. The funding reflects an ongoing effort by Western nations to strengthen diplomatic and economic partnerships in the Pacific amidst shifting regional dynamics.
