Republicans are launching the first midterm convention in modern political history in Dallas, Texas, aiming to energize voters ahead of the November congressional elections. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are scheduled to headline the two-day event, featuring over 100 speakers and candidates across its agenda. Traditionally, major political parties hold national conventions exclusively during presidential election years to nominate candidates. However, GOP leadership organized this gathering to spotlight key domestic and economic priorities while boosting down-ballot campaigns amidst historical midterm headwinds. Vice President Vance is scheduled to deliver a major keynote address on Wednesday night. Complete coverage of the proceedings is provided exclusively by C-SPAN across television, radio, and digital platforms. Party organizers face ongoing questions regarding whether competitive race constraints will keep several nominees campaigning locally instead of traveling. Observers note the convention serves as a high-profile national platform to drive voter turnout.
