Legendary Inter Milan and Italy forward Sandro Mazzola has passed away at the age of 83. A lifelong club loyalist, Mazzola spent his entire 17-season professional career with the Nerazzurri, serving as the heartbeat of manager Helenio Herrera's famous Grande Inter side of the 1960s. He made over 500 appearances, scored 162 goals, and secured four Serie A titles alongside back-to-back European Cups in 1964 and 1965. As the son of Valentino Mazzola—captain of the Grande Torino who died in the tragic 1949 Superga air disaster—Sandro forged an immortal legacy of his own. On the international stage, he earned 70 caps for the Azzurri, helping Italy win the 1968 European Championship and finish as World Cup runners-up in 1970. Following his playing retirement, Mazzola contributed to the club in executive capacities, cementing his enduring status as a revered figure in Italian football history.
