Week 6 brings a sharp set of fantasy calls. The column backs Jordan Love (league-high implied total) and Matthew Stafford (fast pace, volume) while fading Tua Tagovailoa and Caleb Williams against stingy, pressure-heavy looks. At running back, Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s expanded role and J.K. Dobbins’ red-zone edge earn starts; Tony Pollard and Chase Brown take a seat. Start Matthew Golden and George Pickens; sit DK Metcalf and Travis Hunter. At tight end, Darren Waller and Jake Ferguson get the green light, with Mark Andrews and Evan Engram on the bench.

President Donald Trump threatened to cancel an expected meeting with China’s Xi Jinping after Beijing tightened rare‑earth export rules, accusing China of “becoming very hostile” and warning of a “massive” tariff hike. The S&P 500 fell about 1.4% in late‑morning New York trading. China opened a monopoly probe into Qualcomm and announced new port fees for ships with U.S. ties. Brookings fellow Jonathan Czin said Xi is seeking to shape upcoming talks in a fragile détente, noting the rare‑earth directive hasn’t taken effect yet.

The White House accused the Nobel Committee of putting "politics over peace" after awarding the Peace Prize to Venezuelan activist María Coria Machado rather than President Donald Trump. Citing her “tireless” push for democratic rights, the committee’s choice spurred Trump aides to tout his role in a Gaza ceasefire announced two days earlier and his broader claims of ending conflicts. Machado praised Trump and dedicated her prize to Venezuelans and to him; Putin also lauded Trump. With nominations closing Jan. 31, it remains unclear what accomplishment would have qualified Trump this year.

David del Rio was fired from CBS’s Matlock after a Sept. 26 incident involving co-star Leah Lewis; an internal probe led to his same-day removal from the lot. In the aftermath, his wife, actress Katherine del Rio, posted — then deleted — Instagram Stories mocking Lewis, including a zoomed photo calling her “the most disturbing human being I have ever met” and a mother-daughter post echoing Lewis’s own message of gratitude and strength. Lewis had earlier thanked supporters alongside her mother. On the series, Lewis and del Rio play first-year associates. Deadline has sought comment from Katherine del Rio.

Chinese stocks listed in the U.S. slumped Friday after former President Donald Trump threatened sharp tariff hikes on Chinese imports, calling China “very hostile.” Alibaba and Baidu dropped about 8%, JD.com 6.6%, PDD Holdings 5.2%, and the iShares MSCI China ETF fell 5.2%. The selloff followed renewed tension over trade, technology and security, as Beijing tightened controls on rare earth exports. Nationwide’s Mark Hackett said markets were swayed by emotion and uncertainty, and noted investors are waiting, even with the ETF still up 32% this year.

Billionaire investor Peter Thiel held four off-the-record lectures in San Francisco exploring his fear of Armageddon and an antichrist he equates with a one-world state. Recordings, not disputed by his spokesperson, show him denouncing international bodies, environmentalism and tech guardrails, and floating figures like Greta Thunberg and Bill Gates as emblematic foes while avoiding a definitive culprit. He framed AI hype as a symptom of broader tech stagnation. Tickets sold out as protesters gathered outside, including a theatrical "satanist" performance, while Thiel mixed theology, politics and pop-culture in sprawling remarks.

Attorney General Pam Bondi was blindsided when President Donald Trump’s handpicked US attorney, Lindsey Halligan, won a grand jury indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James on bank fraud and false statements charges, sources told CNN. Halligan, leading the Eastern District of Virginia, moved ahead without coordinating with Bondi or Main Justice and presented the case alone in Alexandria; it will be heard in Norfolk. Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche had viewed the case as weak, echoing advice from former US attorney Erik Siebert and career lawyers. A DOJ spokesman declined grand jury comment, stressing unity.

After saying he didn’t recall a meeting with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley about the offense, A.J. Brown stood out on one pivotal snap. With 11:36 left in the fourth and the Eagles down 10 at the Giants’ 15, Hurts targeted Jahan Dotson. Cor’Dale Flott intercepted it, returning the pick to the Philly 23; five plays later the Giants led by 17. Pre-snap motion signaled man coverage, the safety committed to Dallas Goedert, and Brown had clear inside sailing to six. Had Hurts looked his way, Goedert would’ve been uncovered.

Viral videos captured a tense moment at Billie Eilish’s Miami concert when a fan yanked the singer toward the crowd as she high‑fived attendees at the Kaseya Center, sending her into the barrier. Eilish steadied herself and kept moving. A woman in the audience confronted another concertgoer, and Miami police said the person involved was ejected; no criminal charges are pending. Eilish is scheduled to perform at the venue again Saturday and Sunday. Representatives for the artist and the Kaseya Center did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

On a charged Thursday night in East Rutherford, rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo drove the Giants’ 34-17 takedown of the Eagles. Dart sprinted 19 yards for the opener and later found Wan’Dale Robinson for a 35-yard score. Skattebo barreled in three rushing touchdowns and 98 yards on 19 carries, becoming only the franchise’s second rookie back to rush for three TDs in a game. Brian Burns logged two sacks as New York (2-4) capitalized on two late takeaways and bled the final 6:50 with a 12-play march, sending the home crowd into celebration.
