Israeli pre-dawn airstrikes on Msayleh in southern Lebanon killed a Syrian man and wounded seven people, including a Syrian and six Lebanese, and briefly severed a highway linking Beirut to the south, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said. The strikes hit a heavy-machinery seller, wrecking numerous vehicles; a passing produce truck was also hit, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV reported. Israel’s military said the site stored equipment to rebuild Hezbollah infrastructure. Despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire ending the 14‑month war in late November, Israel has kept up near-daily strikes; the U.N. says 103 civilians have been verified killed in Lebanon since the truce.

UK front pages spotlight Gaza’s mass return under a ceasefire, with coastal roads “clogged with refugees,” a “torrent of humanity,” and a “long walk to uncertainty” despite a US-led deal. The Telegraph says 2.5 million people are using weight-loss jabs, July sales sevenfold up, as few get NHS prescriptions and record numbers go private. The Daily Mail warns British travellers to expect weekend chaos from new EU travel rules; airlines fear delays and poor testing. China tensions persist: concerns over adviser Jonathan Powell, an MP’s covert-recording fears, and the decision on a Chinese super-embassy set to be delayed.

Amazon Prime Video unveiled the first teaser for Invincible Season 4 at New York Comic Con, setting a March 2026 premiere. Lee Pace joins as Viltrumite Thragg, while Matthew Rhys voices an undisclosed role. Season 3, which aired eight episodes in February 2025 and secured an early Season 5 renewal in July, ended on blistering cliffhangers: the Invincible War, Rex Splode’s death, Angstrom Levy’s survival, and a brutal clash with Conquest that left Atom Eve rebuilding herself. With Conquest secretly imprisoned and new threats rising, Invincible vows a harsher approach.

Jim Caviezel will not reprise Jesus in Mel Gibson’s two-part follow-ups to The Passion of the Christ, with Monica Bellucci also absent as Mary Magdalene, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Lionsgate plans to release The Resurrection of the Christ in 2027, with production set to begin soon in Rome. Part One opens March 26, 2027—Good Friday—and Part Two arrives May 6, 2027, honoring Ascension Day. Key roles will be recast. Gibson, producing with Bruce Davey, previously saw the 2004 original earn more than $600 million worldwide and $370 million in North America.

At the New York Film Festival’s closing night at Alice Tully Hall, Bradley Cooper presented his third directorial, Is This Thing On?, calling it the only place to show the film. The festival, smitten after seeing an unfinished print just months after shooting wrapped, celebrated the New York- and stand-up–steeped project. Will Arnett stars as a man nearing divorce who finds catharsis as an amateur comic; Laura Dern plays his wife, Tess. Cooper, who co-wrote with Arnett and Mark Chappell, praised Searchlight’s Matthew Greenfield for helping the team reach NYFF.

Morgan Stanley’s asset-management arm has asked to redeem part of its investment in a Jefferies Financial Group fund, according to people familiar with the talks. The money was placed with Point Bonita Capital, a Jefferies unit within Leucadia Asset Management. Sources said Point Bonita had roughly a quarter of its $3 billion trade-finance portfolio tied to receivables linked to bankrupt auto-parts supplier First Brands Group. Discussions continue over pulling some funds, the people said.

The Giants jolted out of their funk Thursday night, stunning the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles 34-17 as rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo injected fearless energy. Dart threw for 195 yards, ran for 58 and accounted for two touchdowns, and even high‑fived an official; Skattebo powered for 98 yards and three touchdowns. Veterans said the pair made football fun again, while Brian Daboll praised their edge and preparation. At 2-4, New York finally pushed back against years of bruising losses and a lopsided series Philadelphia had dominated.

Japan’s Asahi halted production at most of its 30 domestic factories after a cyber-attack, leaving restaurants and shops short of Super Dry and other drinks. Although all facilities, including six breweries, have partially reopened, computer systems remain down, so orders go by pen, paper and fax, and shipments are sharply reduced—some wholesalers get only 10–20% of normal. With about 40% of the beer market, the slowdown is rippling nationwide: 7-Eleven paused Asahi shipments, and FamilyMart and Lawson warned of shortages. Ransomware group Qilin claimed responsibility; authorities are investigating as small venues like Tokyo’s Ben Thai count their last bottles.

Netflix’s Amy Bradley Is Missing has revived 1998 disappearance of the 23-year-old American, generating hundreds of leads — three deemed “very significant,” a source tells THR. A cruise-ship bartender says she cried “Señorita kidnapped!” the night Bradley vanished and is being interviewed. The FBI, the source said, has reopened the case and, with the family’s private investigators, is pursuing tips in Curaçao and surrounding countries. Investigators traced a suspicious visit to Bradley’s website to a boat off Barbados, and the FBI responded to a sighting there. New evidence suggests Bradley may have had a child, bolstering trafficking suspicions.

James Gunn discussed Peacemaker’s season-two soundtrack and the DCU’s next moves in a wide-ranging chat. He chose Nelson’s deep cut “To Get Back to You” and Foxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord,” then brought both bands into the finale, tying the music to Harcourt and Peacemaker’s connection and the birth of Checkmate. Gunn says future DCU stories will track an escalating government–metahuman conflict, including an off-world prison, with threads touching Lanterns and Supergirl. Superman leaned on score; Swamp Thing with James Mangold remains alive. A Checkmate spinoff? “It’s a mystery.”
