Indiana stunned No. 3 Oregon 30-20 at Autzen Stadium, earning its first road win over an AP top-5 team after 46 tries and snapping the Ducks’ 23-game regular-season and 18-game home streaks. The Hoosiers logged six sacks and two interceptions, holding Oregon to 267 total yards and 81 rushing, just their second sub-300 game in two years. Roman Hemby scored twice, Elijah Sarratt had 121 receiving yards, and Brendan Franke hit a 58-yarder. After a pick-six tied it, Fernando Mendoza answered with a 12-play touchdown march and a late field-goal drive. Indiana is 6-0 and 2-0 vs. ranked.

At Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, staff are preparing to receive several of the 20 hostages due for release under the Israel-Hamas agreement, with reunions planned on a sixth-floor unit. Head nurse Dr Michal Steinman says the team is 'inventing' captivity medicine after past releases revealed hidden injuries and delayed symptoms. Lessons include detective-like diagnostics, patience over rigid routines, and hotel-like rooms offering privacy and family presence. Nutrition, mental health, and social work, led by Karina Shwartz, anchor care, with an emphasis on listening and allowing time as hostages and relatives navigate the early days.

Alabama edged No. 14 Missouri 27-24 in a tense finish sealed by freshman cornerback Dijon Lee Jr.’s interception of Beau Pribula. No. 8 Alabama leaned on quarterback Ty Simpson’s poise; he completed 23 of 31 for 200 yards and three touchdowns while enduring four sacks and persistent pressure. Simpson converted two late fourth downs—a 29-yard throw to freshman Lotzeir Brooks and a fourth-and-goal touchdown to Daniel Hill—to cap the decisive drive. The win moves Alabama to 5-1 and 3-0 in the SEC, snapping Missouri’s 15-game home streak and delivering the Tigers’ first loss.

Marvel used New York Comic Con to finally unveil the first full trailer for Wonder Man, the long-delayed Disney+ series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, now set for a January 27, 2026 debut. After strike-hit production and years on the schedule, the show’s Hollywood-in-the-MCU premise looks promising, but the article questions its timing and whether another wave of new characters—aside from Ben Kingsley’s returning Trevor—will land. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps behind and 2026’s Spider-Man and Avengers films ahead, the piece wonders if Wonder Man can stand on its own.

At New York Comic Con, the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 debuted, confirming Krysten Ritter’s return as Jessica Jones and a March 2026 Disney+ premiere. Season 1, released in early 2025 as Marvel’s first M-rated show, pitted Matt Murdock against Mayor Wilson Fisk. Matthew Lillard joins Season 2, and the series has already been renewed for Season 3.

Spanish police arrested a site manager after discovering 250 dead animals in a filthy warehouse in Meson do Vento, where cages were totally covered in excrement. The Civil Guard said the illegal facility held carcasses, 28 chihuahuas among them, in varying stages of decomposition, some mummified. Officers rescued 171 animals, including macaws and cockatoos found in life-threatening condition; some survivors had been feeding on the dead for lack of food and water. Images showed officers tending to the animals, which were relocated to recovery centers. Authorities also seized unprescribed, mostly expired veterinary medicines. Charges include animal abuse.

Battlefield 6 stormed onto Steam with a launch-day peak of 747,000 players, the highest ever for an EA game and above Call of Duty’s all-time Steam mark of 491,000. The surge also topped the 521,000 record for free open betas, with the weekend poised to push the number higher. The strong debut positions Battlefield 6 as a potent rival to this fall’s Black Ops 7, even as Monster Hunter Wilds holds 2025’s top concurrent count at 1.38 million. EA is set to go private in a $55 billion deal.

Howard Stern dismissed claims he's 'gone woke' or preparing to retire, saying he isn't being fired and is discussing an extension with Sirius. On air, he questioned the term, but has previously called being 'woke' a compliment tied to vaccines, transgender rights, and accepting the 2020 election. His pandemic-era remarks—backing vaccines and arguing refusers be denied treatment—angered some listeners, and he stayed isolated for years. Recently, after the second attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, Stern agreed with a caller likening Trump to Adolf Hitler, warning of dire consequences if the election goes the wrong way.

Outside Portland’s ICE building, protesters in inflatable costumes — from unicorns to frogs — turned ongoing demonstrations into a surreal show of defiance and de-escalation, even as federal agents watched from rooftops. Organizers say the playful gear counters the Trump administration’s “war zone” narrative and offers some protection from gas. The Justice Department, citing vandalism and street fires, pressed its case to send National Guard troops as Oregon officials pushed back in court. With crime largely steady, the costumed movement has drawn global attention and local solidarity.
