Seattle dominated Washington behind a flawless first half from Sam Darnold, who went 16 of 16 with four touchdowns as the Seahawks piled up 330 yards and converted every third down before the break. Washington’s defense unraveled, and injuries mounted: wideout Luke McCaffrey left with a shoulder issue, and quarterback Jayden Daniels later exited after his left arm was trapped on a scramble, leaving with his elbow immobilized. Seattle added touchdowns to Tory Horton and via a goal line plunge by AJ Barner, while Washington’s lone touchdown came on a Daniels run.

Dr. George Tidmarsh, head of the FDA drug division, resigned Sunday while on leave amid a federal inquiry into a complaint tied to his LinkedIn criticism of Aurinia’s lupus drug voclosporin and to allegations involving investor Kevin C. Tang. He says the probe retaliates for his objections to a new rapid drug-approval program he argues politicizes science. A lawsuit accuses him of extortion and vengeful acts; he denies it. An FDA spokeswoman said his resignation was accepted after serious concerns about his conduct, as upheaval continues under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account on Nov. 2 after a string of unsettling posts and a public dispute over ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir. Her profile showed as removed, following weeks of dancing videos with comments disabled and cryptic captions about her sons, prompting fan concern. An Oct. 7 clip showed bruises and bandages; she said she fell down stairs. On Oct. 19, she referenced four months in rehab in 2018 and lasting impacts. She later criticized Federline’s media interviews and claims in his book, while her rep said he is profiting and she remains focused on her sons.

Two of Southern California’s busiest airports saw average delays of at least an hour Sunday as FAA advisories cited air traffic control staffing shortages linked to the federal government shutdown. Delays were expected to persist into the night, reaching nearly 1.5 hours for flights to LAX between 8 and 10 p.m., and about 1 hour 20 minutes at San Diego International between 9 and 10 p.m. The only other ground delay nationwide was for Newark Liberty, where departures faced more than 3.5-hour waits, rising to 4.5 hours from 7 to 8 p.m. Eastern.

US equity-index futures edged higher Monday, hinting the seven-month global stock rally still has momentum as strong tech earnings and easing US China trade tensions buoy sentiment. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 contracts rose 0.2% after Friday’s gains, with optimism offsetting worries about a tech-heavy advance. Across Asia, shares added 0.3% and South Korea notched a fresh peak, while Chinese indexes fell. Markets in Japan and cash Treasuries were shut for a holiday.

Kyle Larson clinched his second Cup Series championship at Phoenix Raceway, rallying from a flat tire and a two-lap deficit to finish third on an overtime restart. Denny Hamlin led 208 of 312 laps and was three laps from the crown before a late caution for William Byron’s wall hit derailed his bid; he finished sixth. Ryan Blaney won the race over Brad Keselowski. Larson never led a lap and became the first champion of the elimination era to secure the title without leading the finale and without a playoff win.

Josh Allen threw a touchdown and ran for two more as the Buffalo Bills beat the Kansas City Chiefs 28-21. Buffalo’s defense hounded Patrick Mahomes, sacking him three times and hitting him 15 more, as he finished 15 of 34 with no scores and the worst completion rate of his career. It ended in the final 17 seconds, when his last heave from the Bills 40 was batted down by rookie Maxwell Hairston after Matt Prater’s 52-yarder for Buffalo hit the upright. Allen also set the quarterback rushing TD record. Buffalo moved to 6-2; Kansas City fell to 5-4.

On November 1, 2025, the 14th LACMA Art+Film Gala lit up Los Angeles. Founded by trustee Eva Chow and co-chaired by Leonardo DiCaprio, the Gucci-backed night spotlighted artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler. Fashion swung from daring to classic: Demi Moore’s sheer floral gown stirred debate; Cynthia Erivo’s Schiaparelli couture drew raves. Doja Cat shimmered in orange gold Gucci, Paris Hilton wore black lace, and Vittoria Ceretti glowed in gold. Tara Dollinger’s Schiaparelli split opinion, while Dixie D’Amelio’s sheer look won buzz but sparked hair extension snark.

In a game described as one of the season's worst, Jaguars kicker Cam Little drilled a 68-yard field goal as the half expired, setting an NFL record and cutting Las Vegas to a 6-3 lead. The previous long was Justin Tucker's 66-yarder in 2021; Little also hit 70 in preseason. The Raiders scored on Geno Smith's 7-yard pass to Brock Bowers, but Daniel Carlson missed the extra point. Bowers, back from a Week 1 knee injury, has four catches for 41 yards. At halftime, the Raiders lead in yards 153 to 136; Trevor Lawrence has an interception.

A bruising 10-3 loss to a Kentucky team riding a 10-game SEC skid made clear Hugh Freeze’s time at Auburn was over after three seasons marked by a 6-16 league record and repeated offensive droughts. The job’s appeal is debated, but contenders range from Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham, an ex-Auburn OC succeeding at his alma mater, to Tulane’s Jon Sumrall and Group of 6 winners Ryan Silverfield, Alex Golesh and Charles Huff. Wild cards include James Franklin, fired at Penn State. Auburn hasn’t topped six wins since 2019 and remains volatile even by SEC standards.
