Eleven people were seriously injured Saturday night when a car crashed into a tent in a Bladensburg, Maryland neighborhood around 10:15 p.m., officials said. Nine of those taken to hospitals were juveniles, including an infant; two women were also hurt, according to Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department. The infant and a girl are in critical condition. The others have serious, non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. It was not immediately clear why people were in the tent. The incident occurred a few miles northeast of Washington, D.C. The situation is developing.

Sabrina Carpenter sparked a stir on SNL’s Oct. 18 episode, singing “Nobody’s Song” without bleeping the line “He sure fucked me up” twice. The expletives aired uncensored on NBC’s East Coast and Peacock after an apparent miscommunication with censors; some West Coast viewers heard silence on delay. Carpenter, serving as both host and musical guest, also performed “Manchild” amid a martial-arts staging. Her on-air swearing follows a VMAs acceptance speech with similar language and joins a long SNL history of live profanity. Separately in the last week, President Donald J. Trump used the F-word during a news conference.

At a Washington, D.C., rally backing the nationwide 'No Kings' protests, Sen. Bernie Sanders accused President Donald Trump and a cadre of billionaires of 'hijacking' the economy and democracy. Citing Trump’s troop deployments and disregard for due process, he named Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, alleging their wealth and influence have surged since Trump took office. Sanders condemned a GOP bill cutting Medicaid while tech leaders pour billions into AI he says could erase tens of millions of jobs, and urged Republicans to end the government shutdown and resume negotiations.

Rutgers University ordered a fraternity to halt all activity after a 19-year-old student was found injured and unresponsive near the New Brunswick campus following a disconnected 911 call shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, officials said. The student remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and has not been identified. The chapter is on social probation until Nov. 3 and organizational probation through May 18. Alpha Sigma Phi suspended the chapter and is investigating possible hazing, pledging expulsions and closure if confirmed. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact detectives.

Athens, Ga. In a top-10 shootout, No. 9 Georgia beat No. 5 Ole Miss 43-35, handing the Rebels their first loss and jolting the SEC race. The teams scored on the first 11 drives before Georgia’s first stop early in the fourth set up a nine-play, 67-yard march for a 40-35 lead. The Bulldogs outgained Ole Miss 510-351 and closed with a 17-0 fourth quarter; Gunner Stockton accounted for five TDs without a turnover. Kirby Smart called it a 'culture win.' The Athletic’s model moved Georgia to 78% Playoff odds, Ole Miss to 63%.

Industry sources say the San Francisco Giants are closing in on hiring Tennessee’s Tony Vitello, 47, an unconventional move aligned with executive Buster Posey’s approach. Vitello, who led the Volunteers to three College World Series in five seasons after reviving the program, has no professional coaching experience; he texted that there was nothing to confirm, and the club declined comment. The Division I coach earns more than $3 million annually and could command a top MLB salary. The Giants also considered Nick Hundley, Brandon Hyde, Kurt Suzuki and Vance Wilson, and have multiple former Volunteers in the organization.

During a Nashville stop on his High and Alive World Tour, Keith Urban met a front‑row fan named 'Nicole' and, with a wry collapse to the stage, turned the awkward reminder of his split from Nicole Kidman into a laugh. The moment, captured by The Nashville Experience, went viral and drew praise for his grace under pressure. The breakup — after 19 years of marriage — continues to loom large: a source says Urban is dodging red‑carpet scrutiny to focus on the tour, while Kidman remains publicly active, including Paris Fashion Week.

In a breathless shootout in Athens, No. 9 Georgia surged ahead of No. 5 Ole Miss 40–35 midway through the fourth after tight end Lawson Luckie’s third touchdown, cashing in on the Rebels’ first punt of the day. Ole Miss led 35–26 late in the third behind a 75-yard De’Zhaun Stribling sprint, a one‑handed Deuce Alexander grab and two rushing scores from quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. Georgia answered with Gunner Stockton’s scoring throw to Nate Frazier and a timely defensive three‑and‑out. Earlier, Georgia settled for two field goals and lost receiver Colbie Young to injury.

Chicago’s deployment of federal agents amid President Trump's immigration crackdown is under scrutiny after viral clips of crashes and forceful takedowns. Former acting ICE director John Sandweg said the administration put agents trained for high‑risk border work “in a city where they don’t belong.” After tear gas was used on a South Side crowd following a federal vehicle crash, a judge ordered body cameras for agents. DHS said videos show agitators attacking law enforcement, while Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker praised the ruling and HSI’s Jerry Robinette warned of unprecedented confrontations.

Diego Pavia accounted for three touchdowns as No. 17 Vanderbilt beat No. 10 LSU 31-24 in Nashville, snapping a 10-game skid against the Tigers and securing the Commodores’ first win in the series since 1990. Pavia threw for 160 yards and a score and ran for 86 and two TDs, while Vanderbilt’s defense forced LSU to settle for field goals despite explosive plays. A fourth-quarter sack by Zaylin Wood helped seal it after Vandy’s first punt. With purple filling the stands, Vanderbilt celebrated to “Callin’ Baton Rouge” as LSU fans headed out.
