Prince William and Princess Kate won their privacy case against Paris Match after the French magazine published long-lens photos and details of their April ski break in the Alps with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. A Nanterre court, presided over by Ms. Sandrine Gil, ruled in September that the piece infringed their privacy and image rights. The couple requested a judicial notice rather than damages, which was published Thursday, Oct. 30; the publishers paid their legal costs. Their office said they will act again to protect private family time.

Billie Eilish used an award acceptance speech Wednesday night, with Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg in the audience, to question why the mega rich let wealth accumulate and to urge billionaires to give, saying people need empathy and help. Fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson applauded on Threads, saying Gen Z will call Zuck an evil dork to his face. Zuckerberg has signed The Giving Pledge and, with Chan, vowed in 2015 to donate 99% of their Facebook shares, then worth $45 billion, through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Celebrity criticism of extreme wealth has intensified, from Ms. Rachel to Rosie O’Donnell.

Jolted by a pre-dawn call, Questlove turns from dread to memory, charting his three-decade bond with D’Angelo: late nights at Electric Lady, the shock of Michael Jackson’s Morphine bridge, mischievous pranks, and the fierce, technical focus that birthed Voodoo and remade Black music. He recalls swapping tracks with Common, a blistering soundcheck that ripped faux-leather pants as Halle Berry watched, and D’s vintage-only approach on Black Messiah. Recent rehearsals and hospital visits gave way to quiet, spiritual conversations — a surprising, tender healing between brothers.

For four decades, paleontologists argued whether small tyrannosaur fossils were teenage T. rex or something else. A Nature study identifies a North Carolina specimen as Nanotyrannus: analyses of the museum's dueling dinosaurs tyrannosaur show a nearly mature 20 year old with anatomy unlike T. rex, including larger forelimbs, a vestigial third finger, more teeth, distinct skull nerves, and fewer tail vertebrae. The team places Nanotyrannus on an early tyrannosaur branch and names Jane as Nanotyrannus lethaeus. Outside experts call the adult identification decisive, though debate over Jane continues.

Days after the abrupt demolition of the White House East Wing, Sen. Edward Markey demanded proof that contractor ACECO followed federal rules for asbestos and lead removal, echoing warnings from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. The White House says an extensive assessment and September abatement met standards, but ADAO says no public evidence backs that. Doctors caution of serious health risks, and experts question the project's speed and debris handling. A new poll shows 56% oppose the teardown. Some workers signed NDAs. Markey requested answers by Nov. 12.

Toronto rookie Trey Yesavage, 22, balanced coursework with a breakout World Series, striking out 12 Dodgers in a 6-1 Game 5 win that left the Blue Jays one victory from a championship. The youngest pitcher with 10-plus strikeouts in Series history and the only rookie to reach 12, he worked 6 1/3 innings with a controlled fire—stoic breaths, rosin bag, a shout after a late double play. From rural Pennsylvania to East Carolina to Low-A Dunedin, his rise has been swift. After the celebrations, he still had homework.

Meta shares sank more than 12% at Thursday’s open, putting the company on track for its steepest single-day slump in years after a nearly $16 billion tax charge knocked quarterly earnings below Wall Street forecasts. Microsoft fell 2.2% to about $529.40 despite beating estimates, weighed by a $3.1 billion OpenAI-related hit, while Alphabet rose 2.7% as revenue topped $100 billion at $102.3 billion. Apple and Amazon report after the close Thursday, and Nvidia is slated to release results November 19.

Honored at Variety’s Power of Women, Sydney Sweeney arrived in a light-catching silver Christian Cowan gown, then turned the spotlight to resilience. In a recent interview, she rejected “sex symbol” labels, saying she dresses for herself and hopes to embolden other women. Onstage, she saluted boxing icon Christy Martin, the subject of her film Christy, which traces Martin’s rise and battles with LGBTQ identity and domestic violence. Sweeney said she gained about 30 pounds and trained intensely for the role, later reuniting with Martin on the red carpet.

Scenes turn feral as Demogorgons tear through quarantined Hawkins, Lucas cradles a comatose Max with a Demo-dog closing in, and Eleven and Hopper press on in the Upside Down while Mike sees Joyce wracked with worry for Will. Matt Duffer says the final eight-episode season is a complete, finished story. Netflix drops four episodes Nov. 26, three on Dec. 25, and a two-hour finale on New Year’s Eve, also screening in 350-plus movie theaters through Jan. 1, 2026. Linda Hamilton joins the ensemble; Frank Darabont and Shawn Levy direct with the Duffers.
