Top ranked Ohio State shook off a tense first half and pulled away from Penn State 38-14 with a blistering third quarter at Ohio Stadium. Julian Sayin went 20 of 23 for 316 yards and four touchdowns, repeatedly hitting Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate for explosives, including two 57 yard completions. Smith and Tate both topped 100 yards, and Smith added a one handed touchdown off a batted ball. The defense closed it with four second half sacks and Caleb Downs’ end zone interception, extending the Buckeyes’ winning streak to 12.

Arch Manning, back from a week in concussion protocol, threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns as No. 20 Texas edged No. 9 Vanderbilt 34-31. His first snap went 75 yards to Ryan Wingo, and the Longhorns led 34-10 before Diego Pavia fueled a frantic Commodores rally. Vanderbilt pulled within three with 33 seconds left, but the onside kick skittered out of bounds. Manning went 25 of 33; Quintrevion Wisner ran for 75 yards and a score. Texas sacked Pavia six times to secure its fourth straight win.

North Carolina finally found relief under Bill Belichick, beating Syracuse 27-10 on the road for the coach’s first ACC and Power Four win, snapping a four-game skid and moving to 3-5. The Tar Heels trailed 10-3 before scoring the final 24 points, as Gio Lopez went 15-of-19 for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Syracuse, now on a five-game slide, started walk-on freshman and lacrosse player Joe Filardi, who finished 4-of-18 for 39 yards. After weeks of controversy and close losses, Belichick praised a resilient effort and eyed Stanford next.

King Charles III has ordered the former Prince Andrew into exile at Sandringham, with his titles and honors being stripped and a notice served to surrender his 75-year Royal Lodge lease. The move, urged “as soon as practical” but may be protracted, follows weeks of intensifying anger over Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein after Virginia Giuffre’s memoir; Andrew denies her claims. Sandringham options include York Cottage and Gardens House, though none confirmed. Downing Street backs the King’s decision. Charles will privately fund Andrew’s relocation, while Sarah Ferguson will leave Royal Lodge and arrange her own housing.

With Disney’s channels dark on YouTube TV after a failed renewal, ESPN will stream its popular College GameDay on X via Pat McAfee’s feed and the ESPN mobile app, letting fans watch without a traditional subscription. The move follows a record ninth-week audience: 2.5 million viewers from 9 a.m. to noon and 3.2 million in the final hour. The dispute centers on price, as Google resists Disney’s requested rate hikes and pushes new tiers. YouTube TV says a prolonged outage would trigger a one-time $20 credit.

At Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays’ ninth-inning rally in World Series Game 6 unraveled when Addison Barger was doubled off second on Andrés Giménez’s looper to left, sealing the Dodgers’ 3-1 win. Moments earlier, Barger’s gap shot stuck under the wall for a ground-rule double, wiping away a would-be run and leaving Toronto with two in scoring position. Tyler Glasnow induced a pop-up before Kiké Hernandez’s catch and a throw snagged by Miguel Rojas ended it. “Bad read,” Barger said, as manager John Schneider called it a tough play. Game 7 is Saturday night in Toronto.

Yale researchers say satellite images indicate mass killings are likely continuing in and around El-Fasher, days after the Rapid Support Forces seized the city following an 18-month siege. The Humanitarian Research Lab identified at least 31 clusters consistent with human bodies and observed RSF activity as reports of executions, sexual violence, looting and attacks on aid workers persist amid a communications blackout. Survivors describe children shot and civilians robbed while fleeing. Germany’s top diplomat called the situation apocalyptic; Britain’s called it truly horrifying. The U.N. says over 65,000 have fled as violence spreads toward Kordofan.

Washington’s confrontation with Nicolás Maduro is escalating, with the US mounting its largest regional naval deployment since 1962 and preparing strikes on Venezuelan sites tied to drug smuggling, reports say. The Trump administration has authorized covert CIA operations and raised a bounty for Maduro to $50m, while an alleged bid to bribe his pilot surfaced. Ex-intelligence officials warn any capture attempt could turn lethal. Past failed plots and regional coup history loom, yet analysts say domestic support for ousting Maduro is thin, casting doubt on a swift, democratic transition.

Moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea may carry hidden risks for the brain, a study in JAMA Network Open reports, linking the condition to a higher likelihood of new cerebral microbleeds. Such tiny bleeds, common with aging, are tied to slightly increased stroke risk and faster cognitive decline, experts said, urging clinicians to screen and patients to treat sleep apnea. The observational research cannot prove causation, but doctors warn against shrugging off loud snoring, gasping, or daytime sleepiness—signs that merit evaluation, along with night sweats, frequent awakenings, teeth grinding, and morning headaches.
